Tom's combat career is marked by his progression through highly respected and demanding roles. After starting as an infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Division, he advanced into Special Forces, becoming an 18C with the 7th Special Forces Group. His expertise and resilience were further honed in Delta Force, where he served as an operator, assaulter, and sniper. Over his 12 combat deployments—11 in Iraq and one in Afghanistan—Tom faced the realities of war head-on, engaging in hundreds of direct-action raids and enduring a cumulative 40 months in combat situations.
